Leaf Raking
Leaf raking into the street is only allowed in the Fall. Dates will be posted in the Latest News & Information section of our home page when available.

STREET YARD HOURS (333 N. Moore Rd., Port Washington)
The Street Yard will be open, starting Tuesday, April 14, 2020. The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED.

BRUSH COLLECTION SCHEDULE AND REQUIREMENTS
Brush collection begins bi-weekly on April 20, 2020. Weekly collection begins June 8, 2020. Brush collection is for tree trimming and small tree removals (8-inch or less in diameter). Large tree removals and large quantities of brush need to be removed with a private contractor. Stack brush in small neat piles for easier pickup. Do not make one large pile with branches in different directions. Brush stacked in one large pile or with branches in all directions will be tagged and residents will have to re-stack piles which will be picked up the next week. The longer the branches the better, no need to cut branches into small pieces. Trimmings less than 1 foot must be placed in a pail, garbage can, or some sort of container for easier pick up. The city is not responsible for brush on vacant lots.

Household Hazardous Waste
Get rid of hazardous items NOT collected in your regular trash pick up. For more information, click here.

GARBAGE CART SERIAL NUMBERS - IMPORTANT!
Due to recent thefts of garbage and recycling carts, the City of Port Washington is requesting that all residents record the serial numbers of their garbage and recycling carts and report these numbers to the Department of Public Works. Starting May 1, 2013, any garbage and/or recycling cart that is stolen from a residence, and the property owner and/or the City does not have the serial numbers, will have to pay Advanced Disposal to replace the garbage and recycling cart.

You may report your serial numbers by calling 262.284.2600 or by filling out our convenient online form.

BASEMENT BACK-UPS
If you discover sewage backing up through your basement floor drain, you are asked to please notify the City prior to contacting a plumber. This allows the City to determine whether the blockage causing the back-up is located in the sewer main or in the sewer lateral. If the blockage is in the main, City crews will be able to correct it in the shortest time frame possible. If the blockage is in the house's lateral, City crews will instruct you to call a plumber.

Please contact City Hall if you experience a basement back-up at 262-284-2600 during normal business hours, or, outside of normal business hours, contact the Port Washington Police Department at 262-284-2611.

ARBORIST
The City of Port Washington Arborist may be reached by calling 262-284-2600 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
