Voter Registration - Voter Qualifications
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be age 18 or older on or before Election Day.
- Have resided in the City of Port Washington for 28 consecutive days, with no present intent to move, before any election where the citizen intends to vote.
- Military personnel and Overseas voters should visit the My Vote Wisconsin site at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/ or contact the Clerk's office for special information regarding voter registration.

- This site is offered by the Wisconsin Election Commission (WEC). On this site, you are able to register to vote, check your voter registration status, find your polling location, see sample ballots, and more.
- Military personnel and Overseas voters may use this site for voter registration.
Register By Mail
- If you are unable to use Online Voter Registration, you may complete a Voter Registration Application. Print out, sign and date. YOU MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF AN ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF RESIDENCY DOCUMENT. Click here for a list of acceptable Proof Of Residency Documents. When completed, mail or bring in to:

- Proof Of Residency is required for mail-in voter registration applications. Click here for examples of acceptable Proof of Residency documents. This document must include voters complete name and address.
- Military and Overseas Voters are not required to have Proof of Residency, but have other requirements. Go to https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/.
- If you are registering less than 20 days prior to a scheduled election, you are required to register in person at the Clerk's Office at City Hall and will also need Proof of Residency.
- Military personnel and Overseas voters should visit the My Vote Wisconsin site at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/ or contact the Clerk for special information regarding voter registration.

Register In Person At City Hall Clerk's Office
- If you are registering less than 20 days prior to a scheduled election, you are required to register in person at the Clerk's Office at City Hall and provide an acceptable Proof of Residency document with your full name and address on it. Click here for examples of acceptable Proof of Residency documents.
- If you are registering less than 20 days prior to a scheduled election you may not register by mail.
- Port Washington City Hall is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. City Hall may be closed on some holidays. For those dates, please call 262-284-5585.

Register On Election Day At Polling Place
- If you are registering on Election Day, you must complete the Voter Registration Application in the presence of an Election Inspector at your polling place.
- You must provide Proof of Residency that contains your current and complete name and current and complete residential address.

Absentee Ballot - Voting By Mail
- The elector must be a registered voter in the City of Port Washington to receive an absentee ballot.
- Photo ID is required, unless you are a military, overseas or indefinitely confined voter. Acceptable forms of Photo ID.

Absentee Ballot - Voting In Person At City Hall Clerk's Office
