Street Maintenance Position

The City of Port Washington is currently accepting applications for one full-time position in the Department of Public Works.

Minimum qualifications and experience include: high school graduation, possession of a current Wisconsin Commercial Drivers License (CDL), plus experience with landscaping, electrical, masonry, snowplowing, heavy equipment operation, and/or other construction related experience is preferred. Starting wage is $23.32 per hour plus benefits.

Parks Maintenance Supervisor

The City of Port Washington is currently accepting applications for one full-time position in the Parks & Recreation Department for Parks Maintenance Supervisor. Under general direction this position is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating and supervising the maintenance and establishment of landscape, hardscape and grounds in parks, facilities, and playgrounds, including inspection, maintenance, management and improvement; evaluates maintenance issues, and recommends and implements solutions to provide safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing park facilities; participates in the preparation and administration of the division budget; monitor expenditures; ensures safe work practices, work quality and accuracy; prepares, supervises and maintains work records and reports; serves as a technical resource for assigned personnel; performs related duties as required. This position works outdoors, year-round and is exposed to extreme climate temperatures and conditions including severe cold, ice, snow, rain, heat and humidity. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications and experience include: Associate’s Degree in Horticulture or related field. Four (4) years combined education and related experience in aforementioned duties. Possession of, or ability to obtain within six (6) months, the following certifications: Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Applicator License. Starting pay is $23.32 per hour with benefits.

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

The City of Port Washington is seeking a person to assist our City of Port Washington leadership, staff, and volunteers with various aspects of our marketing, communication and economic development efforts, with specific focus on successful execution of our 2017 engagements with the tall ship Denis Sullivan.
